Hello from John Prince county Park, Lake Worth, Fl.  We are just south of West Palm Beach, where The Donald lives.

We are mostly out of harms way.  No storm surge from hurricane here.  We are under Tropical Storm warning.  We did have a tornado south of us yesterday afternoon.  This morning we were woken up at 5:00 am by very fierce, lightening and thunder. Then we received a tornado warning over our phones about 5:45am, while we were up and drinking coffee.  We put on our coats and walked probably 100ft. to the concrete bath houses which serve as shelters here at the campground, and stayed till the tornado warning was over, about 30 min.

The 6:00 am hangout at the bath house.  Tornado warning!

We had our fellow evacuees, Sherry and John (from North Dakota) over for brunch today.  It was quite delicious for a hurricane/pulltogether/camping fare.  The blue drinks are Hurricanes.

Hurricane Ian, Catogory 4,  hit landfall around Fort Myers at 3:00pm today.  Our campground that we volunteer at, Koreshan State Park, is 16 miles south of there.  The eye wall of the hurricane is 80 miles.  So.. its sad to say, but we are pretty sure we wont have a volunteer job to go back to because the swells will be upto 16 ft..  We are especially sad for all of those who we have come to know, that will not have jobs or homes to go back to.😢  And for all the volunteers, local, and from far and wide who have come to know and love this special historic site.

We have extended our reservation here at John Prince county park, till Oct 9th, so we can regroup and see where we would like to go. The next 24 hrs will be windy and nerve wracking.
