  Goodbye Georgia Veterans State Park Weve been here at Georgia Veterans state Park for 6 months.  About 2 months longer than we planned, because of hurricane Ian chasing us out of Florida in October.  We are ready to go. January and February were warm and lovely.  March came in like a lion.  It must be their stormy season.  The park is green with new spring growth, and the birds singing in the morning make it sound like a tropical jungle. We witnessed a controlled burn here in the park.  It would have been nice to be warned that it was coming.  Instead of waking up to what appeared to be a forest fire at first.  Luckily we had a 3 day vacation to Amelia island, Florida.  So we were leaving anyway.  We think management should have told the campers this was going to happen because the air quality was awful.  And when we came back 3 days later the fires were still burning.
