AHOY! from Cape Cod Cape Cod as seen from the International space station It looks like an Elfs shoe to me. What does it look like to you? We've been enjoying our time here on the Cape. We bicycled 2 1/2 miles to Nauset Lighthouse. Built in 1877, it is, 48 ft. tall, and made of cast iron and it's brick lined. It had resided in Chatham, to the south, as a twin to the one that is still in Chatham today. In 1923 this lighthouse was dismantled and moved to Eastham as their lighthouse was then retired. In the 1940's it was painted red and white as a daytime indicator. Also in the same area are the 3 Sisters lighthouses, these lighthouses were part of the Nauset Beach Light Station, nicknamed The 3 Sisters, this trio of lighthouses provided landmarks for sailors making their way along the outer Cape from 1838 to 1911. 2 of the 3 Sisters A Whale of a Tail Our Camphosting friends from Georgia Veterans State Park in Georgia, Nick, Kendra a...
